Woodstock Satin is a 14.3 hands bay mare by "Wansdyke Woodstock" out of "Tumbleweed Tascosa". Her bloodlines include "Miss Rexette" who had many successes in open competition: jumping, hunter trials, dressage and one day event, also winning the first official Quarter Horse race in England when 13 years old. On her sire's side, "Rocky Mountain Zero" excelled at advanced eventing and was in the Irish Event Team. She also has the famous foundation sire "King". She was born in March 1990 and ridden for a time before becoming a broodmare. We bought her as a 4 year old. She proved very sensible, especially when ridden along our motorway called the A470. We went out one day in some forestry near by and we had to pass a chap with a chainsaw on the side of the path, who hadn't seen us. I needn't have been concerned, she went past as if he wasn't there ... mind you, we did have to dodge a falling tree (only joking!) She has a gorgeous temperament, and is really solid and chunky. She has had 3 foals with Muffin, a colt and two fillies, the latest one with John and Janelle Norton in Essex. They waited a long time for a Satin filly, she went for a few years in between foals. Her full brother is winning at showmanship, pleasure and trail, a superb 9 year old gelding called Doc Duz It Easy. Watch out for him this year and watch out for his sister too!
